Why Not Save Money By Outsourcing Prisons To Another Country? Send Convicts To Prisons In Vietnam Or China?

The convicts made a choice. They are costing us working people too much. Let those rapists and child molesters do the time in a prison outside our borders and pay 1/3 what we pay our own prison staff. Hey, most other jobs have left the country.
The British sent their convicts to Australia in 1788 … and that was successful … maybe we could send ours to Mexico.
The problem that we face is the fact that prisoners, if put on the international market as a trade good, would not match value for much in the international market. Also, the idea of outsourcing the prisoners to other countries would be seen as the United States just getting rid of unwanted people, which most countries would turn the contact down if faced with the decision.
for prisoners with long-term sentences… it would probably work…
for short term sentences, probably wouldn’t be worth the cost of transportation…
and you could probably just do it in Mexico… and it wouldn’t even be that far away… construction costs are low… pay is low… and if they escape, who cares, they’re in Mexico… let them take care of it…
hold on there buddy——my brother is in prison – he made a mistake–you and me and every 1 on yahoo answers made some and makes some mistakes-not every1 in prison are are killers and rapists—you dont know what they did– you **** up your life you dont want to be shipped2 china– i know a man who was in prison4 [7 yrs] he has4 kids great job-a nice house- car- motor cycle-all people in prison are not bad–just alot of them are stuped 4 being in there–
I do like that idea but if it’s the US’s problem they shouldn’t bring it to another country. A huge problem with jails and prisons is that criminals aren’t being punished but rather enjoying things like TV and reading books. Doesn’t sound right there and they don’t even pay for it.

Did you know over half the U.S. prison population is NON-VIOLENT drug offenders??
If you think this is a good idea, I don’t foresee good things for this country in the future.
We still have a Constitution you know.
Yah, and put tens of thousands of corrections officers out of work, and on unemployment… while enriching another country…. that’s a brilliant plan…

Most people in prison are not “rapists and child molesters,” and it’s wrong for someone to serve time in a country where they haven’t committed a crime
maybe other countries dont want to hold our prisoners or we dont trust other countries and they dont treat prisoners fairly and dont say prisoners dont have to be treated fairly i mean they probly wont get meals
What makes you think other countries want US criminals criminals and rejects? A single escape would offset whatever little money was made on the deal. Hah!!
They did that once. It’s called Australia. They’ve turned out to be quite possibly the world’s most pleasant people.
That would work because in this country we believe in treating our prisoners with some human rights in china and other countriese around the world they don’t give a dam .
I don’t think we should send our prisoners out of country. They are OUR prisoners, not theirs. I think if WE, arrest them, WE contain them. In our OWN COUNTRY.
Now that’s the kind of outsourcing that would benefit our economy!
