India would be fine, China would collapse, Pakistan… what have they got to lose?
The US government doesn’t own the factories that US companies have in foreign nations. Although the government has the power to stop foreign aid, and I think it should since it’s not the business of the taxpayers to be paying for foreign people, they’d probably come begging to us for it.
Hypothetically, if those US based companies pulled out of foreign countries, it wouldn’t necessarily be benefitial to us consumers. Prices would go up and more low income jobs would come back here -the reason that may not be benefitial is because people may take those jobs instead of being motivated to seek out and learn more complex jobs-
America is not in a position to become isolated from the Global Market. We are in debt to China as we have borrowed a great sum of money from them and will be unable to pay off that debt for a great long time, if ever.
And what would you have us do about the foreign companies that we have here?
No this will never happen. America depends on foreign trade as much as other countries depend on us for our trade.
If the U.S. stopped making parts, cars, products in foreign countries and moved the production back to the U.S. immediately, unemployment in the U.S. would be gone, wages would go up in the U.S., the American standard of living would go up, land prices, building prices would skyrocket, our people would become wealthy overnight? Outsourcing hurts the U.S. across the board and always has. Yes, we get some junk cheaper, but in the end, we pay more for it because our standard of living goes down.
You can’t just pull out the money they owe us because they don’t have the money to pay us back right now.
Its like a bank asking a loan holder to suddenly pay up….wheres the money going to come from? The terms of the loaned monies is spread across X years at Y APR.
China ranks 4th in GDP, Pakistan has had above average economic growth from 1947-1990, India’s economic growth has been nothing to overlook.
How would Israel feel about this move? What would this do for Canada and Mexico? What would be our benefit?
If we do cash out, we’d also have to give China 1.4 trillion dollars too.
Well first off we owe china money second china has the most effective cheap labor force they will be fine without us involvement second the us as far as industry is dependent on chinese trade as for india and pakistan they would do fine to fall in civil war but then the us would not have its most prized possession’s of peak resources
Not much. The increased costs to business in America would either run them bankrupt, or would force them to sell their businesses to other companies outside of the US… who would promptly turn around and give those jobs back to the same people they were taken away from.
your corporations, your Money ??????????? Curious how many shares you own of how many company’s?
so now we are bragging about our exploitative labor practices?
That’s great… you must make a mean cheeseburger
outsourcing is also important for america..and who critisized US?if they did maybe adress them specifically..
They in turn would stop all trade with the USA and we’d really have a financial meltdown.
I for one certainly wish we would threaten to do that!
I’d say we give it a try.
