Coping with What?
Who coping? Where coping?
Most people in the U.S. paid little or no attention to it. IT was not publicized it was not a big deal, most went on with their life. There was minimal news coverage and then it was highly censored by the War Department. I am sure you know there was no TV very few radios, newspapers were censored for national security. No internet.
Cope? People back then did not “Cope” they got on with living.
