What Does Make Managment Listen ?

(This is serious, no jokes please)
Assume an organisation that is not run by “financial” constrains, is considered a small shop, has its core business (work) out sourced and does only the “management”. Commitment to follow architecture is not good and no points of excellence exist (to small).
What are arguments that make upper management listen up and make them rethink there strategy (or the lack of such) ?
Your question is very technical. If you are not part of upper management( and I will explain this simply) You really can’t tell them how to run their company. They usually are a bunch of the I know better than you crew and normally take offense to someone telling them what to do.
