What Do You Think Of Drop Shipping Businesses?

Drop shipping has become a big deal on places such as eBay and other auction sites. I would like to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about them? Anyone have a drop ship business? Anyone ever done business with one?
I have done business with some and I must say it’s got advantages and disadvantages. For starters the profit margin are not that great as compared to buying wholesale.
Also, I’ve been in a situation where I sold an item only to discover that the dropshipper had run out of the product. It was a desparate time for me and my reputation.
