Global warming, what does it mean? Global warming is often referred to as “the greenhouse effect”. Both imply the absorption of energy radiated from earth’s surface by carbon dioxide and other gasses in the atmosphere. Global warming threatens the whole world. Though it has had little noticeable impact on the world so far, its potential impact could be disastrous which is why global warming has become an issue ever present in the media and for governments. There are many causes such as greenhouse effect through the burning of fossil fuels, the rise in sea level, and pollution. You have heard that for every cause, there is an effect; well, the effects for us are. Agricultural practices, climate change, and the economic consequences and the solutions are renewable energy the Bahamas need to announce target for reduction for emission
There are many causes of the greenhouse effect. The most common greenhouse gas is Carbon dioxide. The Bahamas depend solely they are released by the burning of fossil fuels; which is a major leading cause of concern for the Bahamas. These emissions can be seen when you start your car on a cold early morning and the muffler smokes. Also, the more cars sit for a long period of time on the road the more CO2 is admitted into the air. It can be seen in the form of smoke in the heavily populated cities like New Providence and Grand Bahama. Many things contribute to global warming. Such things are industries, transportation, electricity used, waste produced, and agriculture. The greenhouse is very vital to our being. Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would not be warm enough for the human race to live. But if the greenhouse effect becomes stronger, it could make the earth warmer than usual. Even a little extra warming may cause problems for humans, plants, and animals to carry on everyday life.
Another cause for global warming is the rise in see level; most of our islands is in 5ft of mean sea level. The Bahamas being a low-line area; it is likely that the fresh water ponds will be severally affect in some islands of the Bahamas. There are many well fields in some of the islands of the Bahamas, which will become contaminated due to the rise in sea level; this spells disaster for those islands whose water is pumped from well fields meanly Andros and Grand Bahama. Paragraph 6 of Climate Change in the Caribbean by Larry smith states that, “Indications are that some fresh water marshes in the Bahamas have already become brackish, which may be attributed to rising sea levels. And it is known that well fields on Andros and Grand Bahama have been badly affected by storm surge in the past five years. Scientist are fervently trying to find ways to counter act the effects that the rising waters are causing, which includes island and beach erosion. Evidence of the public’s ignorance of the inevitable impact of Sea Level Rising is shown in the millions of people that are flocking to the coast. Rising sea levels, winds, and currents are constantly eroding beaches, and in fact whole islands are disappearing.
First, air pollution causes a great deal of health problems. Wanting clean air is a good reason because air that is polluted can damage human health. Indeed, the air pollution causes numerous diseases and increase health problems like the asthma or breathing problems; thus this is a real concern! Some persons cannot live in a big city because of the high rate of air pollution in it. However, our health is not the only to be threatened, our environment is threatened too. Indeed, the air pollution causes some disorders on the environment. Bahamians have another source of pollution; Cruise ships in the Bahamas produce enormous quantities of unwanted gases and fumes. This makes it a major contributor of pollution in the islands. For instance, a cruise ship that calls upon the Bahamas spent one day in Nassau harbour or a few days at other developed islands. “Most cruise ship uses about 300 tonnes of fuel per day at sea, and significant amounts while in harbour”. {English 119 booklet Paragraph. 7}
The Bahamas is a very low- line country; the highest point being 206 ft above sea level; thus, this make this makes the Bahamas vulnerable to the effect of climate change and higher temperatures and even an increase flooding due to heavier rains; this will result in more malaria, dengue and other tropical diseases. As former Best Commission advisor John Hammerton said recently, Given that most of the Bahamas is a low-line coastal zone subject to storm surge and sea level rise, we should be anticipating the possible impacts of climate change and developing strategies to protect our habitats and landscapes based on the predications.” Climate change could also have a serve effect on natural disasters. McDonald’s has a lot of competitors in China, especially the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and Mom and Pop food stands. When McDonald’s first opened their store in China in 1990, their rival, KFC, had already been there for three years. It is estimated that 1.900 KFC stores established in China, which is more than twice the amount of McDonald’s. Besides KFC, McDonald’s has other competitors in China like the Mom and Pop food stands. These businesses are usually owned by the same family for many generations in a single location and their food is traditional, convenient and cheap. Hence, to conquer the fast food market, McDonald’s must attain new strategies.

The sanitation in China is another major issue for McDonald’s. Since China is considered a developing country, their food safety is still a nightmarish problem where corruption is rampant and safe food handling is not always practiced. Moreover, McDonald’s is one of the major food sponsors of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, and they want to provide tourists meals that are made in a hygienic environment. Therefore, their second challenge would be acquiring cleanliness in their restaurants.

To deal with the first situation, a possible solution would be adding values to the products. First of all, the concept of value adding is to allow a business to sell its products for more than its production costs, thereby earning the business a profit. Since a lot of Chinese is unfamiliar with the new products, hamburgers and French fries for instance, McDonald’s can thus alter its recipes to change the flavor of the food. In the article McDonald’s has a big appetite in China, it mentioned about creating a new sandwich using Szechuan (a province in China) pepper to season. Moreover, the quality of service plays a major role in McDonald’s businesses too. Not a lot of fast food restaurants provide additional services. For example, drive-through and queue up services. Some customers are accompanied with cars, and drive-through allows them to purchase meals without leaving their cars, thus it’s more convenient. Since people that are still queuing for food orders may find it irritating to wait, Mc Donald’s should hire workers to assist the customers to preorder, so it can increase the efficiency of providing meals.

Nevertheless, food safety is also the other concern McDonald’s have. During the production process, unhygienic food is not tolerated. To diminish the possibility of getting it, McDonald’s can hire specialists to monitor its production process as well as food quality controls. Furthermore, McDonald’s should import their goods through reliable sources so that they can guarantee that their customers are having a hygienic meal. For example, ingredients for producing hamburgers such as buns, beef and tomatoes should be imported from trusted factories. The article also suggests that the McDonald’s stores have hand washing stations and hand sanitizers right out in the main restaurant. With these kinds of invention, customers can wash their hands before enjoying their meals. Furthermore, employees should wear hairnets to prevent hair from contaminating the food because the hairstyling products they put on their hair may contain chemicals that are harmful to human bodies. Employees should also wear masks to cover their mouth at all times because sometimes they would accidentally spit on the food while talking.

Kamal Karna Roy (also known as Kamal K.K. Roy and Rev. Dr. Joseph Geronimo, Jr.) is a prolific pro se litigant who, since at least the early 1990s, has filed numerous lawsuits throughout the United States and its territories under the names Roy and Joseph Geronimo, Jr., as well as under the names of entities that he is affiliated with, including International Siva Consciousness & World Religions, Reforms International, Handicap Interests International, and Jungle Democracy.[1] Roy’s lawsuits are often brought against multiple defendants, and feature long, unconventional complaints. Roy has filed lawsuits against God, U.S. Presidents, Supreme Court Justices, fast food restaurants, foreign leaders.[2], and Wikipedia [3] [4].
Roy’s lawsuits have addressed, among many other things, actions taken by President George W. Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and “failure of democratic societies and God’s role therein.”[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint:
Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6]
The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court’s dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court “strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served.”[7]
Most, if not all, of Roy’s complaints have been dismissed. A 2006 United States District Court for the District of Delaware opinion, Jungle Democracy v. U.S., describes Roy as “no stranger to litigation” and provides a partial list of Roy lawsuits that have been dismissed since 1991.[8]
Despite Roy’s lack of success in the courts, his lawsuits have been discussed in law school classrooms and in law related blogs.[9] [10]
In April 2007 Roy filed a civil rights action against, among others, CBS Broadcasting Inc., MSNBC, the United States Government, and controversial radio shock jock Don Imus.[11]
In October 2007, Roy filed a suit in the US District Court, Middle District of Florida, against “Wikipedia Encyclopedia, USA, All News Media, All State Board of Elections, Federal Election Commission”. See Dkt. 3:07-cv-00994-VMC-HTS.

Bush, overcharging by telecommunication companies, the appointment of Chief Justice John Roberts to the Supreme Court, and “failure of democratic societies and God’s role therein.”[5] In 2006 Judge Michael W. McConnell of The United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit described a typical Roy complaint: Roy, a/k/a Joseph Geronimo, Jr. filed a 115-page complaint, a 144-page amended complaint, and a 40-page second amended complaint against over sixty defendants, including among many others President Bush, God as U.S.-based divine benefactor, several government agencies, The New York Times, and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition to pages of rambling discourse, the complaint contains numerous illegible handwritten remarks.[6] The Tenth Circuit went on to affirm the district court’s dismissal of the complaint holding that no discernible claim was apparent from the complaint. Judge McConnell also humorously noted that the court “strongly suspect[ed] at least one defendant was not properly served.”[7] Most, if not all, of Roy’s complaints have been dismissed. A 2006 United States District Court for the District of Delaware opinion, Jungle Democracy v. U.S., describes Roy as “no stranger to litigation” and provides a partial list of Roy lawsuits that have been dismissed since 1991. [8] Despite Roy’s lack of success in the courts, his lawsuits have been discussed in law school classrooms and in law related blogs.[9] [10] In April 2007 Roy filed a civil rights action against, among others, CBS Broadcasting Inc., MSNBC, the United States Government, and controversial radio shock jock Don Imus.[11] In October, 2007, Roy filed a suit in the US District Court, Middle District of Florida, against “Wikipedia Encyclopedia, USA, All News Media, All State Board of Elections, Federal Election Commission”. Okay so I am in National History Day and I have a lot of work to do still. All I have done is research on my topic and I still have no clue what to do next.My topic is Tran Hung Dao.He was a Vietnamese War General that led an army to defeat the Mongols with strategies unlike the Japanese who got help with the forces of Nature. I chose him as my topic because he defeated one of the greatest warriors the world has ever known and that I am Vietnamese and wanted to learn more about it’s early days since American schools doesn’t teach about it.I think that if he didn’t lead a small army to defeat the Mongols then the Mongols might have not fall so early. They would have a stronger army if Dai Viet(Vietnam in the early days) didn’t destroy a portion of their troops and fleet.And that Vietnam would most likely not be like it is today.
But I still need:
1. A title
2. Primary Sources because I can’t find any.
3. Better photos, all my photos are statues and such
For the title I was wondering if someone could just give me tips.

We’ve met with his teacher several times, the principal sevearl times, and now, there seems to be a lot of tension between his teacher and I. I have had to challenge much of what she saids. I will confer with sources at the school who don’t have the experience with my son, or they’ve viewed some of his meltdowns and don’t give the same discription. I believe in consequences good and bad, but my instinct tells me my son’ts teacher is past the phase where she is willing to be patient…I mean when you say “GET OUT…JUST GO TO THE BATHROOM AND GET YOURSELF TOGETHER.” and you claim you doing this in a calm manner, I have to question the authenticity of this comment. We have strategies in place (counting, breathing, leaving the class for a little bit until he cools down” etc). He has a very difficult time implementing those strategies before the meltdowns. He feels ashamed, embrassed, sad because he let me down etc. Initially I was more understanding, then I grew frustrated, began yelling, now I’m at the point where I really don’t want to break his spirit so although I make sure he understands I don’t approve of inappropriate behaviors, I feel horrible he is having such a difficult school year. (I take extras like tv, games,etc) away, I have taken a step back and just kind tried to understand his perspective. He always apologizes, but the same thing happens a few days later. I am so 111ready for the school year to be over with, sigh….I love my child…help

Hen harriers consume red grouse…
To try and help resolve this conflict scientists are currently conducting experiments to test whether the hen harrier populations can be increased at the same time as reducing their negative impact on grouse populations. the information can be used to inform decisions about how best to conserve grouse,harriers and moorland habitats.
The experiment will be carried out in two large areas where harriers are rare. within these areas the results of two strategies on the size of the harrier and grouse population will be measured.
1.Killing the harrier chicks or moving them to different location where harrier population reaches agreed ceiling
2.providing alternative sources of food for hen harriers
Question im stuck on :O
4.suggest reason why:………
1.the experiment will take at least 5 years to produce any findings
2.each experimental area will contain a number of different moorland sites managed by different individuals.
3.the independent body acceptable to both conservation groups and grouse managers will be needed to oversee the experiment?
4.The sites chosen for the experiment are ones where harriers can be expected to colonize really quickly?
Just these 4 little points are annoying me :S …
