I Want To Import Some Electronic Products From Over Seas From A Manufacturer, What Should I Be Cautious Of ?.?

I have been in negotiations with a representative from an electronics company in China, I want to purchase some mp3 players, GSM phones as well as other accessories I have narrowed my search down to two different companies and now they are asking for payment via T/T ( Wire Transfer) and/or Credit Card. My problem now is how do I know if i am dealing with reputable companies? I want to purchase their products but I am some what nervous about sending money to a company that I cannot check out via the BBB.
I need some good advice I am (was) thinking about doing this after the holiday weekend.
Help!
Before you pay a dime, ascertain that these products bear the UL Seal of Approval and all other USA governmental approval certifications. Then check them to be sure that the information is valid.
Otherwise, attempting to resell them in the USA will put you in violation, subject to heavy fines and potential for crippling punitive damage suits.
If they cannot or will not produce these, suggest you pass on them altogether.
One of the cleanest ways to get information on a company in China is to hire an agent. An independent person who will be your eyes and ears on the ground for you. Check out my yahoo group, Expats in China and just ask in there, though most of the people on the list are English Teachers maybe one of them will live close to the compnay and can give them the once over for you.
