Gsce Electronic Products – Help!!!?
Posted by IT CommentatorAug 16
Hi everyone, i have just carried out the testing of my electronic product (a reaction tester). The reaction buttons are PTMs and i have to measure a voltage using a multimeter when the switches are closed and open. For some reason i get a high voltage when the swithes are open and no voltage when they are closed. Is this correct? I would have thought there’d be a voltage when the switches a are closed. I have checked and doubled check that they’re not Push to break switches and they’re definately not. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance
You have a short circuit somewhere, causing the switch to act as a push to break.
Check your wiring.
Also, the wire/s where the short circuit is occurring may grow hot, another sign.
If in doubt, ask your teacher…
