Does Potassium Neutralize Lactic Acid???
Posted by IT CommentatorSep 29
I get a LOT of tension in my back. Its kind of like one big knot actually and sometimes it burns when its especially bad. I’ve been told the burning is caused due to the muscle being tight for so long, causing too much lactic acid to be released. I was also told that potassium neutralizes the acid- actually it was more like “eat, a banana, it will help.. potassium balances the acid”. Is there any truth to that?? I’m a research junkie- but I’m hard pressed to find any evidence that this information I received from a trusted source is accurate. If its not, are there any diet strategies anyone knows of to help balance out my body because of the chemical imbalances my tension causes???
Please no suggestions on relaxation- I GET that I’m stressed and telling me to calm down really kind of aggravates me
. Thanks.
Bicarb-Balance™is a combination of potassium bicarbonate and sodium bicarbonate in tablet form with a time-release compound. It is enteric coated to withstand the stomach acids and so melt only in the intestine, where it releases the bicarbonates, that are absorbed in optimal way and introduced in the blood circulation.
Potassium and sodium are alkaline minerals definitely stronger than calcium and magnesium.
In the body potassium penetrates in the cells and sodium remains out of them. The potassium neutralizes the lactic acid that is formed in the muscles, allowing a greater resistance.http://www.alkavita.it/en/prodotti.htm
You should do back exercises to strengthen your back. This will prevent injury, increase flexibility, and decrease stress. You can also see a chiropracter to get you on the right track, and they can give you some exercises.
Re: the lactic acid, there are several OTC pills that are K-based designed specifically for these type of problem. So, possibly, your theory holds.
