What are the legal requirements (if any) in the UK that I need as an individual in order to legally perform electrical wiring for consumer electronic products.
Example:
I want to buy acoustic parts to build a speaker, of which I will sell. Apart from CE certification, what legal requirements do I need as an individual to manufacture consumer electrical products?
I heard there was this ‘competent person’ certificate I have to get or something.

Its obvious that we shouldn’t put it on your Flat Screen HD T.V. or on any screen at that. But I assume that if I put for example the Ipod stickers on the back of my Ipod then… it will make it Over-heat on the inside and eventually destroy the product? Or am I being too dramatic? So it it not good to put Stickers on any Electronic product? PS: I know a lot of people that leave the plastic that came on their new cell-phone screen they bought… Won’t it have the same effect?

Hi everyone, i have just carried out the testing of my electronic product (a reaction tester). The reaction buttons are PTMs and i have to measure a voltage using a multimeter when the switches are closed and open. For some reason i get a high voltage when the swithes are open and no voltage when they are closed. Is this correct? I would have thought there’d be a voltage when the switches a are closed. I have checked and doubled check that they’re not Push to break switches and they’re definately not. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Most of electronic stuff nowadays are made in China but is that the same for electronics sold in Japan?
Always thought that the Japanese do not take lightly to their own brands made elsewhere.If a Japanese consumer buys ,say a BLU RAY Player in Tokyo,would it be made in Japan or China(in which case it should be cheaper)?

Then you have the crooks who steal from stores and put what they stoled on ebay.
Pesonally, I really hate ebay and would never buy anything from that site.

I am planning to start an online shopping portal in India. I am wondering how to get the consumer products (like cellphones, electronic products etc) in wholesale rate or directly from manufacturers.
I tried to contact a few companies by emailing to their sales team ids, but no response.
Do I have to contact the wholesale/national dealers of these companies? How to find out about them?
Any suggestion/information is most welcome.
