I have to transfer 2,000 USD to China and they will do bank transfer. How do I go about doing it? Can I do it online? Can I do it by phone, or do I have to go to my bank in person? If I owe my supplier 2,000 usd for instance, do I transfer them 2000 usd or what? (Currency conversion)

you can do it on line as long as your local bank have such a facility. But for the sake of safety i am not advice you to do that.
The most profitable way is to sent it using bankdraft, because the fund will be received a little bit longer, means that you can still use your $2000 for an extra few days.
