Are Greedy American Workers Responsible For Companies Outsourcing Jobs To China?
Posted by IT CommentatorAug 6
I can’t think of anything besides fascist unions and liberals who believe every worker should be paid TOP dollar for their services. You think you can force a company to pay every worker $30.00 an hour despite them going bankrupt?
It’s the liberals fault your country is in recession now.
Recession was NOT caused by the Iraq war.
It is caused by a ‘loss of jobs’ General Motors, PCs, Clothes, Walmart.. and any antique or piece of electronic equipment you can think of.
Made in China
Made in China
Made in China
Made in China
Made in China
I’M GETTING FKIN SICK OF EVERYTHING MADE IN CHINA.
FOR ONCE ACCEPT A LOWER WAGE AND JUST DO YOUR JOB.
One day Mcdonalds burgers will be….
you know it… – MADE IN CHINA TOO.
So, you’re in favor of Obama’s taxing foreign profits then? Do you only buy “American” or, since that typically means union-made, do you buy goods produced in another country? Oh, the dilemma!
Where are you getting this $30/hour figure?? It just shows how out of touch you are. If you want to blame anyone, blame big business for seeking profits to the exclusion of all else and sending jobs overseas to third world countries.
Bull and Angels, the unions did not cause the auto companies to go under. They sank because they were poorly run and dependent upon a constant demand to remain afloat then, when they were trying to re-negotiate with creditors, once again the corporate profit motive reared it’s ugly head and the creditors refused to re-negotiate, hoping the gov. would bailout the auto co.’s and pay their debts. Now, would you have preferred that the gov. had bailed out the auto companies?
Actually it’s “greedy” American consumers who shop around for the lowest price, forcing producers to cut the cost of production.
And those consumers are also the laborers.
Every time a lot of people switch brands, switch to a substitute product, or simply cut things out of the budget, people lose their jobs. That’s the tradeoff – choice for job security.
And it’s the right tradeoff – if you didn’t get to choose what and how much to buy, what would be the point of earning the money you spend?
The truth is you’re right, Zaphod is right AND Deacon is right. All of these factors have contributed to the outsourcing of good jobs and the importation of inferior, DANGEROUS goods.
Greedy industry is at fault.
Greedy labor unionists are at fault.
Greedy politicians bribed by greedy industry and greedy unionists are at fault.
Greedy US consumers are at fault.
You may thank the LONG OUTDATED labor unions for their total INABILITY to compete in the global market place.
Instead of making “slight concessions”…. the “Proud to be Union” members of the UAW are watching their factories close…. THOUSANDS of car dealerships forced to close…. Pontiac GONE….HUMMER gone…. foreign companies taking over WHAT’S LEFT of GM….
All this because they ’stuck together’ with their “union brothers” to hold out for $75/hour in pay/benefits while having the job skills of a trained Chimp.
Way to go!!!! “Live better / Vote Union”…… LOL……
well part of the answer but western saliers will never reach the low of China’s so you could never compete either way, but in the end unions did piss companies of and only made the transition from west to east quicker of course if this stance was ever to change to chine then it would go somewhere else
No. Bad choices by management caused the problem. And then, you had both Clinton and Bush encouraging it. If you restored tariffs and kept Chinese made crap out of this country, you would have Americans working at a job that paid a living wage.
My friends who worked at Fruit of the Loom until it was outsourced were barely making above Min. Wage. They were paid according to a quota. Those women worked their butts off 8 hours a day to be escorted off the property the day the move to Mexico was announced.
Yep, Americans are spoiled. They barely graduate from high school and then expect to get a salary equivalent to the guy who has a masters in engineering. A lot of those auto workers were making more than the engineers, even when they were laid off!
We should study the Social Democracies of Western Europe. They have strong labor unions
Living Wages
Benefits
Sound economies
How do they do it? Why can’t we do the same?
Oh yes…because the average American worker should work 50 cents an hour just like the Chinese do.
That sounds like good policy!
No, greedy American corporate executives are responsible for shipping American jobs overseas.
That’s a wonderful economy you have planned for us. Thanks but no thanks.
yep, you get it.
very much so…
you don’t need McDonald’s hamburgers~buy the food and bring it home to cook
I don’t know exactly the point you want but don’t blame UNIONS and
buying abroad for causing our dismall economy
I live in the Philippines part of the year and do you know there is stores
that have signs up that say *all goods sold here are made in the USA?*
people would rather buy American goods then their own Philippine goods
this is colonial thinking at its worst but we have the same problem with
people who won’t buy American products and say * I want a foreign car*
even Ford and GM and Chrysler make some of their cars ABROAD
China will always be a big contender in the American market
you can accept a lower wage but most Americans of quality will fight for
a high paying job with benefits
we are not slaves in the USA ~~not yet anyway
